% of Properties Changing +/- 10% per year in RN taxes The percentage of accounts where the revenue neutral taxes are within plus or minus 10% per year of the previous year’s taxes. RN (Revenue Neutral) is defined as "your share of tax that has been re-distributed as a result of the reassessment and assuming a 0% tax rate change by Council and the Provincial Government".
% of Properties Decreasing in RN Taxes Percentage of accounts that will see a decrease in RN taxes due to the reassessment based on the current year’s revenue neutral tax rate. 1 and 1/2 Storey A building with two floors above grade. The upper floor has a sloped ceiling creating pony or knee walls.
2 and 1/2 Storey A building with three floors above grade. The uppermost floor has a sloped ceiling creating pony or knee walls.
2 Storey A building with two floors above grade. The upper floor will have standard or extra wall height. The upper floor area is greater than 30% of the main floor footprint (living area plus garage area).
2 Storey/1 Storey Combo A building with two portions above grade. In one portion there is a main and upper floor, while the second portion of the building only has a main floor. The main floor of both portions is continuous. The upper floor will have standard or extra wall height.
3 Level Split A building with split joists that has three distinct floors of living area separated by stairs.
3 Storey A building with three floors above grade. All upper floors have standard or extra wall height.
4 Level Split A building with split joists that has four distinct floors of living area separated by stairs.
